Audrey Fights Sleep

Lest you think I am an evil demented father, you should know that it was my job to keep her awake because she had already had her nap. There. That's my excuse for being mean.

Officially Oregonians

So, even though we've been here almost a year, we finally bought our own place this past week. He we are taking the obligatory family photo upon our first entrance. The house is fabulous; everything we could have hoped for. We'll probably take a couple of weeks painting and such before we actually move in, but we'll show more pics in time.

What a great night! We drove out to the Maryhill Winery (2 hours out of Portland overlooking the Gorge) to see BBKing in concert. It was pretty amazing. At 82, he's still shredding, and is the total entertainer. He told some awesome stories between songs. He even did a U2 cover! It was funny hearing him take pride in the fact that "U2 wrote 'When Love Comes to Town' for me." Good stuff. We took Bob for his birthday, and the whole family got to go (including Uncle Jim!... sadly, Uncle Bill was a late minute scratch; he wasn't feeling too well). We had pretty great seats in the reserved section, but we were able to sneak up even closer, and I snapped some nice pics. Enjoy.

Awesomest 4th of July Video

So I threw together a sweet little video (if I do say so myself) of our 4th of July experience. We had a blast setting up the show on two barges. We got there at 8am, and set up wiring and fuses all day, then got a chance to watch the show from the barge directly overhead. We had to dodge some shrapnel; good stuff.

Audrey's First Fireworks!

So, her daddy was busy shooting off fireworks at the big show downtown for the Portland Blues Festival, but Audrey didn't want to miss out on the fun, so we had our own little fireworks show on the 5th. She wasn't sure if she should be excited or scared.
